Henrietta, my aging Dartmoor broodmare, was in foal and heading for another bout of laminitis when I first started feeding Quiessence and LinPro. A friend who is a Dartmoor breeder and veterinarian had heard a presentation by Dr. Melyni Worth and she was extremely impressed with the research, which had gone into developing these products. Henrietta improved dramatically within weeks, her crest reduced and softened; she stayed sound and delivered a beautiful, healthy filly. I compete Dartmoor ponies in Combined Driving and these ponies are asked to be tough athletes performing dressage, marathon and cones over a three-day competition. Competing at the Advanced level means that these ponies must be fit, healthy and not too fat - always a challenge to maintain the proper weight with ponies. Their dietary needs must be met without adding the extra calories and sugar content that so many feeds include. Gemma in particular has thrived on FoxDen products, once I started feeding her Quiessence her tough mare attitude mellowed just enough to be highly competitive without being tense.
We were thrilled to win the USAE National Championship for Pony Pairs in 2002. We have been selected by the U.S. Equestrian Team to compete in Austria for the first Pony World Championship next month. The Quiessence and LinPro is the first thing packed!

Just a note to let you know that I have used the sample of Quiessence that
was sent to me and the difference in my horse's demeanor is night and day.
He is no longer a bundle of nerves and can actually concentrate on the
work we're doing and then some! He still has his same energy level, but I can
now direct that energy toward his work rather than worry about what will
set him off next.
My riding instructor is surprised and pleased with the
difference and has said that she will now consider magnesium deficiency
when working with horses that exhibit the same tendencies. Consequently, I've
ordered a larger supply and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

me look forward once again to riding my horse and wondering what things we

Of all the Foxden Equine products, I have found the Quiessence to be the one I use the most for my ponies. I was first introduced to Quiessence through a veterinarian friend who had attended a conference on sport horses. She was intrigued by the product and sent me a sample to use on a pony we were working with at the time who seemed very sensitive to her environment. I gave it a try, and the Quiessence did the trick with this particular pony. She has gone on to be a lovely children's pony as a result of getting her metabolism back in balance with the magnesium she needed.
Since that time I have learned to use Quiessence not only to address jumpiness in some ponies, but also the issue of diet and crest control on ponies that were managing to develop dangerously rigid crests even when confined to a fat paddock. Quiessence has proved to be multifaceted solution for a variety of equine metabolic problems. I've been able to pull some ponies completely off of Thyro-L, while for others we were able to reduce or eliminate the Thyrol dosage. Throughout my experience with Quiessence, Melyni Worth has been a great help in working through various problems in not only ponies, but also in some of the "easy keeper" breeds, such as Morgans and Quarter Horses.
By combining a program of grass forage feeds, some type of vitamin (Lin-Pro is certainly a good one) and the Quiessence, I have been able to control the rigid crest issue, and the ponies are not having to stand in a paddock thinking they are starving all the time. We still have to pay attention to the founder potential, and we keep them in work and exercise. Sometimes we even resort to the use of a grazing muzzle, as we all recognize that no single solution is going to solve all our problems with the native breeds. But it has been a real help to have Melyni working on the problem with us breeders, and keeping us up to date with new and exciting products from Foxden Equine like Quiessence.

We
purchased our Thor DD laser
from Foxden Equine a couple of years ago and we have grown so
accustomed to it that we use it on at least 6 horses in our
barn everyday.
We use it mostly for the general relaxation of the horse's body
as well as for more severe ailments such as suspensory injuries
and burns. We have 2 horses in the barn whose condition was
so acute that we were told they would never heal. The first
being one of my breeding stallions, a lovely Akhal Teke who
was in a barn fire 6 years ago and lost all of the hair along
the topline from his head down to his tail. When we bought him,
he had grown back most of the hair except where the saddle lies.
I was told that this accident happened so long ago that the
hair folicles were dead and there was no hope for the hair to
ever come back. But I use the laser religiously each day and
in the last 2 months fifty percent of the hair has already grown
back and most of it is of his natural coat color, brown.
My second "patient" is a lovely horse who tore the suspensory
from the sesamoid bone. We gave the horse a year off but the
outcome seemed pretty grim. Although the horse was never lame
, the leg was swollen and the ultrasound and x-rays were pretty
awful. But I did not lose hope and I lasered that leg daily.
Every 3 months the vet came back to check the horse and was
amazed by the healing process. Now a year later, the vet came
to check and could not believe it was the same horse on the
cross ties. Both the ultrasound and the x-rays have shown it
has healed immensely. I cannot mention how valuable this laser
is. It is a tool that heals the horse from sore aches and pains
to truly severe conditions.
